The protest by miners left unpaid by bankrupt coal operator Blackjewel has stretched into a second week. Their blockade of a Kentucky railroad track gained national attention and called to mind the area’s history of labor struggles.

We’ll also hear an update on the murder trial of a 65-year-old white Charleston man William Pulliam. Pulliam made national news in 2016 when he shot and killed 16-year-old James Means, who is black. Pulliam pled guilty to second degree murder last week, but now wants a judge to reconsider that plea.
