Some W.Va. Ski Resorts Slated to Open

Phil Duncan, Snowshoe Mountain

Some West Virginia ski resorts are getting outdoor activities started this week in West Virginia.
Snowshoe Mountain Resort in Marlinton says on its website that its winter season debut is scheduled for Wednesday.

At Canaan Valley Resort State Park in Davis, general manager Steve Drumheller says the resort's 1,200-foot tube run and ice skating area will open Thursday.
Winterplace Ski Resort in southern West Virginia and Timberline Four Seasons Resort in Davis plan to start ski activities sometime later depending on the weather.
The ski and snowboard season traditionally runs from Thanksgiving through early April.
