Education Reform Bill Passes House

The comprehensive education reform bill passed out of the House of Delegates on a vote of 71 to 29. We’ll recap the day’s action on the bill, and host Suzanne Higgins talks with Randall Reid-Smith, Curator of the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History.

Senior Statehouse Reporter Dave Mistich joins us to discuss the changes made by the House to SB 451 – the omnibus education bill, and he recaps the discussion on the bill from the House floor.

It was Arts Day at the Capitol, and Reporter Randy Yohe shows us that politics and debate can take a short break for painting, dance, and mountain state music.

Randall Reid-Smith, Curator of the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History and Chiho Feindler, Senior Director of Programs and Policy with VH-1 Save the Music Foundation join Suzanne Higgins for a discussion on efforts to bolster arts programs in the state.
